CreativeBunny ("we") operates the Android application Drinkly (the "App"), a water reminder and hydration tracker. This policy explains what data the App handles and why. It is written to match exactly what the App does.
Drinkly collects nothing. It has no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no INTERNET permission — the App is technically incapable of sending your data anywhere. Everything it records stays in the App's private storage on your phone.
The short version
The App does not ask for your name, your email, or any account. Your hydration log, your profile details, your settings and your game progress are stored only on your device. There are no advertisements and no third-party SDKs. We never see any of it.
What stays on your device
The App stores the following in its own private storage:
- Your drink log — the amount, drink type and timestamp of everything you record
- Your hydration profile — age, body weight, biological sex, activity level and climate, which are the inputs to the daily-goal calculation
- Your reminder settings — schedule, waking hours, chosen alert sound, snooze length
- Your progress — daily goals met, streaks, rank, badges and mini-game levels
- Your preferences — units, theme, quick-log amounts, sound and vibration switches
This data is written to the App's private storage. We cannot see it, it is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and it is removed when you uninstall the App.
A note on health information
Your body weight, age and biological sex are health-adjacent details, and the App treats them accordingly. They exist for one purpose — computing your recommended daily fluid intake — and they never leave your device. They are optional in the sense that you can change them at any time in Settings, or set your daily goal by hand and ignore the calculator entirely.
Permissions the App requests
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Showing your hydration reminders. Denying it disables reminders; everything else still works. |
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM | Delivering reminders at the time you chose, including while the phone is idle |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Restoring your reminder schedule after the phone restarts |
VIBRATE | Haptic feedback and reminder vibration |
WAKE_LOCK | Letting a scheduled reminder complete delivery |
The App does not request the INTERNET permission. It also does not request access to your photos, files, contacts, camera, microphone, location, health platform, or advertising ID.
No advertising, no analytics
The App contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. No advertising identifier is read. No consent form is required because there is nothing to consent to.
Links that leave the App
The Settings screen contains links to our other apps on Google Play, to our Instagram page, to our website, and an email link. Opening one hands the link to your browser, the Play Store app or your mail client — the App itself makes no network connection. Once you follow a link you are on that service, and its own privacy policy applies:
- Google Play: policies.google.com/privacy
- Instagram: privacycenter.instagram.com/policy
Backup
The App permits Android's standard backup so that your hydration history survives moving to a new phone. If you have Google backup enabled on your device, your App data may be included in that encrypted device backup, which is governed by Google's privacy policy and your own Android backup settings. You can disable it in Android Settings → Google → Backup. We have no access to those backups.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and its Play Store target audience is 13+. We do not collect personal information from anyone, children included. The App's daily-goal calculator does include published reference figures for younger age groups so that a parent can look them up, but the App is not designed for a child to use unsupervised.
Data retention and deletion
We hold no user accounts and no server-side copy of anything, so there is nothing for us to delete on request. You are in full control of your own data:
- Clear drink history — Settings → Data → Clear drink history
- Erase everything — Settings → Data → Reset everything, which wipes history, settings, streaks, badges and game progress
- Remove it all — uninstall the App
Security
Your data never travels, which removes the largest class of risk entirely. On the device it is held in the App's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps.
Not medical advice
Drinkly is a habit tracker, not a medical device, and its recommendations are general reference figures rather than clinical guidance. If you have a kidney, heart or liver condition, or have been advised to restrict or increase your fluid intake, follow your clinician rather than the App.
Changes
We may update this policy as the App changes. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date on this page. Were advertising or any network feature ever added, this page would be rewritten before that version shipped.
